Change is not necessarily getting better, but it's worse if doesn't change

Tell you something scary, 2018 is over 1/4, how much have you achieved this year's resolution?

With time passed, we looked at the resolution we made, but also feel more and more scared, so we change something on the list, which is reduce the difficulty of the list, changed the requirements.

But isn't the right thing to do is try your best to achieve the list?

It's not just us will make the list of the year, but so will the successful guy like Facebook's CEO, Zuckerberg.

Zuckerberg makes annual personal plans, such as:

2009: Wear a tie daily.
2010: Learn Mandarin.
2011: Be a vegetarian or eat meat only if he killed the animal himself.
2012: Code daily.
2013: Meet a non-Facebook person every day.
2014: Write a thank-you note daily.
2015: Read a book every two weeks.
2016: Build an artificially intelligent app for his home and run 365 miles.
2017: Meet someone from every US state.
2018: Focus on fixing Facebook’s platform-abuse problems.

What's more, the plan that Zuckerberg gave to himself was done without exception, and it was great.

Look back on our plan, our plan is everywhere, but is not all become a rotten project?

Have you ever thought about how we can change ourselves or make ourselves better, and why are we not Zuckerberg instead of the little monkeys that lost watermelons?

The answer lies in the action.

Let me tell you a story:

Once upon a time, there were two monks lived in a monastery, one poor and one rich.

One day, the poor monk said to the rich monk: "I want to go to the South China Sea, what do you think?" The rich Monk said, "How are you going to go?" The poor Monk said: "I only need a water bottle and a bowl of rice."

The rich Monk said: "I have wanted to charter a ship along the river, and I have yet to do so, what makes you think you can do it?"

The following year, the poor monk came back from the South China Sea and told the rich monk about the trip to the South China Sea.
The rich Monk is very ashamed.

"Think too much and do too little" is really the Achilles heel of many people now.

It's always easy to find an excuse for inaction: lack of time, influenced by others, lack of resources, etc.
But never find a reason to act.

Now it's time to focus on yourself and change something.
Change is not necessarily getting better, but it's worse if doesn't change.

So, just do it, taking action is never the privilege of an entrepreneur, it is the accomplishment that every ordinary person should cultivate.

However, the term "action" is simple, but how do we cultivate it?

Give a reason to do what you have to do

It's important to have a reason to do something.

For example, if a person is determined to learn a new language, he sets the goal of learning at least 30 minutes a day, unfortunately, a week after the plan, he failed.

But once he is out of the country, studying abroad or traveling, he will learn the new language spontaneously.

Because when he is in local, he did not have the reason to learn because he won’t need it, he did not know what he will get if he learned it.

Your ability to act is in part proportional to the degree of urgency in which you pursue that goal.

When you set the next goal, ask yourself, "How much do you want it?"

When people pursue a goal that embodies their intrinsic motivation, they can experience their best role and pure happiness, those who pursue their intrinsic motives in life often show greater self-awareness and initiative.

So, you should start with your actual situation and choose the things that you want to achieve in the immediate moment.

We do it only when we know exactly why and what we need to do.

Before you do, think carefully about the outcome of success and failure

Many people when do not want to do one thing, it is likely because they feel that it is very difficult. But I have to say, before the action, the "Imaginary Monster" in our mind, we need to have the courage to puncture it.

I do not know whether you have such an experience, something we find it difficult, but when we really to do, we found it is actually very easy, this is actually "imaginary Monster" in mischief.

So before you act, think carefully about the outcome of success and failure, and then ask yourself, can you accept the outcome of failure? If it's not acceptable, why?
If you can, then hurry to do it!

More pleasantly, many of the things we find very difficult, after such a comb, only to find that the result of our failure is such a deficiency.

If we always cling to our original ideas, do not want to change, fear to face the unknown, then we will always stand still or even decline.

In fact, "Imaginary monster" is only puffiness, as long as we are determined to do, it will immediately disappear.

Establish a “check-in” system

With just only reason, maybe not enough to hold you. At this point, you have to create a ritual for yourself, that is, to set up a “check-in” system.

“Check-in” system is very simple; you can divide things into a lot of small nodes. After you completed one node, “check-in” on it.

You can “check-in” on a social platform or notebook in your own favor.

If you are “check-in” through a social platform, you can attach a daily “check-in” photo and mood, or even create a tag that belongs to you.

Check-in on the social platform, your friends will cheer you up or even like your post, these dots will become the driving force for you to continue moving forward.

Learn to reserve "delicious cake"

"Delicious cake" not refers to the real cake, but to what you want and what you want to achieve.
It can be a book, a dress or a smartphone.

In other words, the "delicious cake" is reserved for you to set a reward for yourself.

This reward will serve as a positive incentive to motivate our behavior to achieve our goals better.

For those who lack action, rewards are a powerful motivator for them to do something.

To do this, before starting a thing, you can set up a few task nodes, that is, do xx things, I reward myself xxx.

It should be noted that even though the cake is delicious, but you need to set at an appropriate time, if the cake was finished before the task completed, the effect would be passable.

But if things go halfway, that is, when people want to give up, in time to set aside a "delicious cake", they can imagine the mellow cake taste, a good sense of taste, the image of the task of the completion of the acquisition, will be a strong booster.

The world is fair, where you spend your time, everyone will know.

The time you invest in yourself will never be wasted.

A step in action is more important than a dozen programs.

Hopefully, by the end of this year, you'll reap the full resolution and a new self.
