Whenever I'm traveling I make sure to bring enough money because it is obvious that I will want to participate in all the activities that are within my reach. When you hire these trips, some tours are included, but many others offer them as an option, so you have to have your wallet ready. I don't really care so much about the extra cost because I see it as the opportunity to do something extraordinary. Fortunately, and thanks to this way of seeing things, I was able to join this walk in which we visited the El Hornocal viewpoint: a mountainous structure full of wonderful colors within the province of Jujuy ❤️.
Siempre que estoy de viaje me aseguro de llevar suficiente dinero porque es obvio que voy a querer participar de todas las actividades que esten a mi alcance. Cuando contratas estos viajes vienen algunos paseos incluídos, pero otros tantos los ofrecen de manera opcional por lo que hay que tener el bolsillo preparado. Realmente no me importa tanto el costo extra porque lo veo como la oportunidad de hacer algo extraordinario. Afortunadamente y gracias a esta manera de ver las cosas, pude sumarme a este paseo en el que conocimos el mirador de El Hornocal: una estructura montañosa llena de colores maravillosos dentro de la provincia de Jujuy ❤️.
After visiting the Huánuco Art Factory , we took an extra ride that took us in a small bus to the top of the mountains. It is funny to see how these buses are common vehicles: one would think that because they are going to go up the mountain they should be all-terrain buses but no, they are almost like the ones I see every day at my house 😂.
Después de visitar la fábrica de Arte Huánuco, adquirimos un paseo extra que nos llevaba en un pequeño micro hasta la cima de las montañas. Es gracioso ver como estos micros son vehículos comunes: uno creería que porque van a subir la montaña deberían ser colectivos a todo terreno pero no, son casi como los que veo todos los días por mi casa 😂.
In any case, each time we climbed more and more it became clear that the bus had to make a lot of effort: it is not easy to walk on all those dirt roads that the mountain offers. The wonderful thing about all this was to see the path that we were leaving behind: to save the slope of the mountain, paths have been drawn in the shape of snails that prevent vehicles from climbing dangerously. Beautiful ❤️!
De todos modos, cada vez que fuimos ascendiendo cada vez más se notaba que el micro debía hacer mucho esfuerzo: no es fácil andar por todos esos caminos de tierra que ofrece la montaña. Lo maravilloso de todo esto era ver el camino que íbamos dejando atrás: para salvar la pendiente de la montaña se han dibujado trayectos en forma de caracoles que evitan que los vehículos asciendan de manera peligrosa. ¡Hermoso ❤️!
While the guide was explaining to us all the considerations of the place, we were in love with the landscape. Getting there took us a little over half an hour, in which our ears were plugged due to the altitude, until it left us all almost deaf 😅.
Mientras el guía nos iba explicando todas las consideraciones del lugar, nosotros íbamos enamorados del paisaje. Llegar hasta allí nos tomó un poco más de media hora, en la que los oídos se nos taparon debido a la altura, hasta que nos dejó a todos casi sordos 😅.
When we went down we discovered that there was an incredible wind and it was very cold. There I realized that I had forgotten my winter jacket in the bus at the foot of the mountain and I only had a small sweater full of holes that uselessly protected me from the wind. My God! Nobody warned us that this was the weather that awaited us up there 😂.
Cuando bajamos descubrimos que había un viento increíble y hacía muchísimo frío. Ahí me di cuenta de que había olvidado mi campera de Invierno en el micro al pie de la montaña y solo tenía un pequeño sweater lleno de orificios que inutilmente me protegían del viento. ¡Dios mío! Nadie nos avisó que ese era el clima que nos esperaba allí arriba 😂.

The wind was so much that it was even difficult for us to take pictures because the cell phones were moving even if you held them firmly. That is why I only took a few images and then I dedicated myself to enjoying the landscape as I could.
El viento era tanto que incluso nos costaba tomar fotgrafías porque los celulares se movían aunque los sujetaras firmemente. Es por eso que solo tomé algunas imágenes y luego me dediqué a disfrutar el paisaje como pude.
What we saw there was a mountain range with many layers of colors that represent millions of years of sedimentation. The end result of this was a real painting, it was hard to believe that we were facing something so beautiful 😍.
Lo que allí vimos fue un cordón montañoso con muchas capas de colores que representan millones de años de sedimentación. El resultado final de esto fue una verdadera pintura, costaba creer que estábamos frente a algo tan hermoso 😍.
When we saw how many meters high we are, we understand our blocked ears: 4,350 meters above sea level were no small thing. It is surprising to have climbed so much: this trip was not suitable for people with vertigo.
Cuando vimos a cuántos metros de altura estamos entendemos nuestros oídos tapados: 4.350 metros sobre el nivel del mar no eran poca cosa. Es sorprendente haber subido tanto: este viaje no era apto para personas con vértigo.
The funny thing is that this landscape from El Hornocal appears in a Argentine film called "Mi obra maestra (My masterpiece)" , which they screened on the trip from Buenos Aires to Jujuy. They were already preparing us for what we were going to see live and direct ❤️.
Lo gracioso es que este paisaje de El Hornocal aparece en una película argentina llamada "Mi obra maestra", la cual proyectaron en el viaje desde Buenos Aires hasta Jujuy. Ya nos estaban preparando para lo que íbamos a ver en vivo y en directo ❤️.
My partner Irma and I tried to take some pictures in which I came out with some very extravagant hairstyles. I think in the end I did not have any cute photos in this place: my hair was flying everywhere and it was impossible to accommodate it even if I held it. Anyway we have a funny memory of this place 😂.
Mi compañera Irma y yo intentamos tomar algunas fotografías en las que yo salí con unos peinados muy extravagantes. Creo que al final no tuve ninguna foto linda en este lugar: mi pelo volaba para todos lados y era imposible acomodarlo aunque lo sujetara. De todos modos nos quedó un gracioso recuerdo de este lugar 😂.

When we got back to the bus, we were all very stunned: between plugged ears and the wind we didn't have so much fun in that sense, but having seen that beautiful landscape justified everything. In the north it is very common to chew coca leaves to beat all these effects, so that is what we did and after a while we were already recovered. On the way back down the mountain we all agreed that doing this extra walk was a great choice 💕.
Cuando volvimos al micro, estabamos todos muy aturdidos: entre los oídos tapados y el viento no la pasamos tan bien en ese sentido, pero haber visto ese paisaje hermoso justificaba todo. En la zona del norte es muy común mascar hojas de coca para apalear todos estos efectos, así que eso fue lo que hicimos y al cabo de un rato ya estabamos recuperados. En el camino de vuelta montaña abajo todos coincidimos en que hacer este paseo extra fue una gran elección 💕.
