After the Gunther Werks's project 400 R Program (customization of 25 Porsche 993 (my post about it), the 993 is still topical issues with the sale auction organized in October by RM Sotheby's for 70 years of Porsche sports cars celebrations. Indeed, a golden yellow 911Turbo with an air-cooled engine will be auctionned... in two words beauty and performance.
History of the Porsche 993
The Porsche 993, one the most desirable of sport cars, is the last air-cooled 911 produced between 1994 and 1998. The 911 Turbo version of the 993 was also the first to have a twin-turbo engine, only 345 example of the 911 Turbo S with its 450 hp engine were built.
For this model, Porsche Classic has created a beauty with an original 993 body shell painted in Golden Yellow Metallic (the same color as the 2018 911 Turbo S Exclusive Series). It took more than 18 months to Porsche Classic, specialised Porsche workshop based in Stuttgart (Germany), to produce it.
Technical specification
With a new 3.6 litre twin-turbo engine and manual transmission, the Project Gold develops 450 hp, the same performance of the 993 generation Turbo S. The black wheels are highlighted with touch of gold. Beautiful...
For the interior, the seats are also finished in black with golden yellow details.
