The Porsche 70th Anniversary Sale is rather impressive. Each lot deserve a post. Next weekend, RM Sotheby's will auction this rare 1994 Porsche 911 Turbo S X85 Flat-Nose for about $US 600,000, one of the only 39 produced.
History of Porsche 911
In the beginning, when Porsche wanted to improve its 365 a completely new model has to be created for more space for the occupants and storage for all set of golf club (I like this specification). Ferdinand Porsche, the eldest son of Ferry Porsche was in charge of the design while his cousin Ferdinand Piëchh developped the engine. A real family business...
Porsche stopped the production of the 964 Turbo in 1993, the final batch was sent to Porsche Exclusive to have S specification that means Works Increased Horsepower X88 engine option (better performances). There are several distinct varieties Option X83, X84, and X85 with the standard Turbo S. For the X85 version, a flat-nose (Flachbau in German) version was developped, only 39 examples produced.

Specification
The Porsche 911 Turbo S X85 has a M64/50S X88 engine, air-cooled flat-six that delivered 385 hp at 5,750 rpm. This model was bought in December 1993 for $US 169,273 with a coachwork in Black Metallic with a Cashmere Beige/Black full leather interior.
With only 39 examples, the Turbo S X85 Flat-Nose is a must to have for every car's lover. Pure beast.
