Today, I present a monster known as Rambo Lambo. Always during the Amelia Island Sale, RM Sotheby's will auction this white 1988 Lamborghini LM002 for about $US 350,000.
History of the Lamborghini LM002
The LM002 was an exotic supercar and off-road vehicle produced by Lamborghini between 1986 and 1993 after two prototype vehicles the Cheetah and the LM001 (Lamborghini Militaria - off-road utility trucks by Lamborghini). The LM0002 was presented at the Brussels Auto Show in 1986.
Brutish and luxurious, the LM002 was appreciated by militaries and Sheiks because it could be customized for professionnal use or with luxurious features. It's the big brother of the new Lamborghini Urus presented at the 2018 North American International Auto Show.
Only 328 examples were produced.
Specification
The Lamborghini LM002 has V12 engine with a fuel tank of more than 287 liters (76 gallons) in order to tame its consumption (35 l/100 km or 8 mpg). Despite its weight (2595 kg), it can reach 100 kmh in just 7.7 seconds.
Finished in white over black, this example was restored in 2017. With wood and leather, the interior looks like the Lamborghini Countach, only difference rear seats.
