I got quite lucky yesterday being mostly on Standard after they got behind. this match would have easily ended in a 3-0 or higher for AA Gent which would have been deserved as they were the only team on the pitch most of the match.
We are entering the final stage of the regular season and many matches are being played in no man's land. Lokeren pretty much got the final verdict and will the team to relegate which settles the fight at the bottom of the table. All matches today are between teams who have nothing left to play for. These matches are always rather difficult to handicap.
Eupen vs Zulte-Waregem
Eupen have been rather poor after having a hot streak which put them in the safe zone. They still showed signs of going for it in the 2nd half against Oostende in a match that ended in a 1-1 draw. Zulte-Waregem are playing a lot better after the winter break and are on my 'teams to potentially back" list since they have a lot more stability now. They tend to play open matches against teams they believe they can win against and have a more closed down approach against better sides. I took a medium pre-game bet on
Zulte-Waregem +0.25 @ 1.813. Zulte-Waregem has more quality in their team and a draw is a result Eupen could probably live with. I will keep an eye out on the early pace and intentions and take the over at a bigger line and higher odds in case I get that confirmed.
Cercle Brugge vs Oostende
Cercle Brugge has been very weak mostly against the good teams and have not managed to get in win in the last 7 matches. Oostende this season also has been a poor team and it seems impossible for them to hold on to a lead. They are also without a win in their last 7 league matches. This is set out to be a real playoff 2 match and I'm not sure in how far these teams are motivated. The way I look at it, this match will either be a very poor quality low scoring encounter where both teams don't care or a crazy high over match where both believe and go for the 3 points. Oostende will be without Key player Canesin and Vandendriessche is suspended and the Pitch in Brugge is still of very poor quality. My lean goes toward the home team and the under and I took tiny bets on
Cercle Brugge -0.25 @ 1.99 &
Under2.75 @ 1.88. The in-play match picture will bring more clarity and I will use what I see to get in deeper or opt out.
Waasland vs Kortrijk
KV Kortrijk lost their match in the final seconds against Charleroi last week and now fully out of the playoff 1 race. Waasland took the surprise win against AA Gent and are safe now even though it's not mathematically 100% sure yet. I like to take my chance on the home team in this match, they have been playing decently lately and have goalkeeper Roef they can count on. I see the chance of Kortrijk no longer being motivated which already was the case a couple weeks back higher than the chance Waasland players did party too much to celebrate being as good as saved. I split my stakes on
Waasland +0.5 @ 1.93 &
Waasland +0 @ 2.80 and also took some extra in BTC at the higher odds line on
Nitrogensports.
Moeskroen vs Lokeren
My main bet last week was on the Moeskroen Team total Over 1.5 in a match they ended up winning with 3-0. They continue to be an underrated team and I still very much have my eyes on them. Lokeren seems to be a team that takes results when all hope is lost but fails big time when a win would put them back into the race to stay in the league. Right now all hope is completely lost and this might work both ways. If anything I will look for signs of a total collapse if Moeskroen takes the lead. Odds have drifted too much to get involved and I'm not willing to back the visitors.
