Slow betting night in the Europa League yesterday and I missed out on some great live betting opportunities to fade Club Brugge and Genk who both played a poor match mostly because I lacked the 100% focus being busy with some other things during the matches. I did manage to pick up a bit of profit regardless and the poor Genk performance did help me to pull the trigger on taking Antwerp for this weekend. (

AA Gent vs Standard
There are 4 more weeks to go in the regular season and both these teams are direct opponents for a play-off 1 spot. AA Gent currently is in 7th position being 3 points behind on Anderlecht who are in 6th spot and 8 points behind on Standard who are 4th. AA Gent has the cup final to qualify for the Europa League which should reduce the pressure for them on this match a bit. Standard tend to play great at home but have issues in away matches. AA Gent is the slight home favorite as the odds suggest and i think this could be one of those matches where the team that gets behind can be backed as the team that takes the lead will automatically lean back a bit. I don't have enough confidence in the home team to take a pre-game bet on them but in this kind of situations, I generally go with the team that is chasing the PO1 spot instead of the team who is in the top 6 defending their spots. The distance is quite big though, so I'm not entirely sure if this is a valid setup. The main bet I'm looking at is the under. The odds went up quite a bit to the point where it seems to have gone too far. once of the issues for the home team has been to create many chances when they are dominating games while Standard is still missing Djenepo, Oulare and Sa.
