We're Bringing the Deals and Couponing Industry to Steemit!

A couple of months ago we created Block Deals. Block Deals (blockdeals.org) is a website that has been built on the Steem blockchain where people can share deals that they discover on the internet with other users of the site. This might sound a little simplistic at first, until you consider how big the deal and coupon sharing industry is on the web.

The deals industry has been valued at approximately US $5 billion. And the two of the largest deals and coupon sharing websites (slickdeals.net and ozbargains.com.au) receive more than 7.5 million visitors per month (combined).

This is a big industry with a big and active community supporting it. And, with the aid of the Steem blockchain, this is an industry and community that is ready for disruption.

How will we disrupt this industry?

We have a huge opportunity to disrupt this industry given that we can reward people for submitting deals via the Steem and SBD currencies. This is the beauty of building a site like this on the Steem blockchain. Other users of the platform are able to upvote and comment on the deals being shared, therefore rewarding the person submitting the deal with Steem and SBD. And even better, anyone commenting on the deals can also be rewarded via upvotes.

The @blockdeals Steemit account will also upvote any deals submitted. And we have a goal of being able to upvote each deal to a value of $5 which provides a real incentive for users to become regular and passionate users of the website.

With a financial incentive, it isn't hard to imagine how attractive our platform will be to this community. Even if we only attract a small percentage of users away from the existing deals and couponing websites, we'll see a very large number of new users making use of the Steem blockchain and currency. And this can only lead to positive outcomes for our amazing Steemit community.

Block Deals has a goal of gaining $100k Steem Power by the time of our Beta release. These funds will be raised through fundition.io, delegation of Steem Power from the Steemit community, and through the authoring of posts and curation rewards.

So far we've reached approximately $3k Steem Power so we really need your help us reach this target!
