This Sunday coming will mark 9 months on the blockchain for me. I have absolutely no idea where the time has gone... but I have been having an absolute blast spending it. I've spent it writing, engaging, screening, curating, learning, and nurturing relationships across Hive. My time spent online is so much more productive for me personally now. I am writing more regularly than ever before (compared to my pre-Hive days), I'm a member of the best DreemTeem @dreemport and I curate for the VYB Curation Project.

How do I use Dreemport? It's easy! :)

So...covid round 2!!!
This past month has been fairly uneventful (?) off-chain for my family as we ended up all getting covid... again...one after the other!!! The first time round was in Feb/March of 2020 and we were all very ill with it, but it was before testing was available. Our symptoms were absolutely in line with what was to become a very familiar sight in the months to come.
This time around, my eldest son who is 10 going on 11 years old came down with it first. He had a very sore throat and a splitting headache. A few days after testing positive he felt so much better though and was up and about playing online games whilst isolating from school. If it hadn't been for the rules on isolating at home, he would have been back to school, that is how much better he was feeling.
Then it felt like a game of tag...my husband was next to be hit and it hit him fairly hard (not hospital hard) but enough that he was out of breath walking up a single flight of stairs at home and needed to sleep a whole ton. He had an awful headache, sore throat, and cough. But he can't just stay still so he was constantly roaming the house and so we were all wearing masks. His complaint was that he was struggling to breathe as it was, and wearing a mask made it feel 10x worse.

I came in 3rd... I had flu symptoms for about 5 days before I started testing positive and felt progressively worse the two days immediately prior to my first positive test. I was literally exhausted and battling to focus on the day job, making silly mistakes that I would not usually make. My concentration was just not there and I started to get a headache. The day I tested positive I just knew I had covid; the headache was horrendous, all-consuming, a tight band that gripped my head and my eyes in constant ache. I developed an annoying cough that lasted a couple of weeks and was immensely fatigued a lot of the time. I slept so very much...sometimes as much as 15 hours in the day. The sleep was good for me. I tested positive for 10 days and then the negative tests rolled in.

It has taken me a couple of weeks for the brain fog to clear though. Initially, I found myself staring at work spreadsheets, wondering what it was that I was supposed to be doing, easily distracted, forgetting where things were filed in the online systems, even to the extent I asked one colleague where some of my own electronic files were as I thought they had restructured the online folder system... they hadn't! It was just my memory, playing games with me. I am feeling a ton better now... some things are still a bit fuzzy in my memory but for the most part, I have recovered.
My youngest age 9 was the last to test positive... once only!!! I was so careful to wash my hands before testing him, and to make sure the test was not contaminated... but it was one positive test only, and then, despite having light symptoms (mainly just a mild headache and sore throat), his tests were negative every day thereafter for the duration of his isolation.
It is truly incredible how it impacts everyone differently. My husband and I are both double-vaccinated with Astra Zeneca and have had the Pfizer booster too. I say this only for context for anyone reading who may be wondering.
So now that things are back to normal, I guess I can be thankful, grateful, that all things considered, we were only lightly affected by Covid and none of us required medical treatment other than a few painkillers.
Hive Power Up Day
Today being another 1st of the month, means that it is once again Hive Power Up Day :-)
I powered up 10 HIVE today and was also very fortunate to come 10th in the Hive Engagement League and win a lucky number prize from tarazkp as a result, who powered up a few more HIVE for me :-) Super grateful for his generosity!
So onwards and upwards, and may March be filled with joy and a whole lot of fun for you all.
