Born to be Wild

Here is my share for #vehiclephotography contest by @juliank

Hello again and let me share with you another local public transportation here in our country. We consider this vehicle as like a taxi cab here in the Philippines. We do have taxi cabs here in our country and there are a lot actually. But this vehicle is considered as a cheaper alternative to move easily around going to your destination. This vehicle is called....................

Tricycle

1.JPG

If ever you are in need of a ride early morning, noon or night. We have our friendly tricycle driver always ready to give you a ride. This in fact is my other offspring Jules and today he is acting out the role of a tricycle driver.

2.JPG

The Tricycle is a motorcycle attached with a side car for the passengers. There are also different styles of Tricycles depending on the area. This vehicle can sit 4 passengers three on the inside and one at the back of the driver. Though some squeeze another passenger at the back of the driver. I will share the other types in case we find some on our future travels.

3.JPG

You would also encounter Tricycles with different colors and decorations. As like the Baby Bus from last week's post these vehicles are personalized by it's owners.

If you would like to know more about The Baby Bus feel free to check my old post.

These vehicles are tough as they come and can bear heavy weight in case hired for cargo delivery to the market. This is a cheap alternative to get your goods delivered and gets you to your destination in no time. Even in heavy rain or flood these vehicles are always ready to deliver.

5.JPG

I wanted to give this ride a spin but unfortunately I only know automatic when it comes to motorcycles. Can't seem to get the hang of the clutch and gears on motorcycles.

6.JPG

The design of this Tricycle is decorated with stainless steel and chrome which a lot of drivers prefer as it would not rust compared to the ones with metal bodies.

7.JPG

8.JPG

If ever you need a ride just look for one and wave your hand for them to stop. Also there are lines for Tricycles on blocks and you could just take a ride from there.

9.JPG

Here we have @bearkid with me as always acting out as the ever joyous passenger.

10.JPG

Now if ever you needed to stop just say Para (Stop) and the driver would park on the side. This vehicle provides a lot of jobs for our countrymen to support their families. It is quite good if you own your Tricycle but majority of drivers takes out vehicles for other owners which they pay a daily boundary as they call it. A certain amount will be paid to the owners then what exceeds the boundary would be their pay. That still depends on their set up.

11.JPG

Now once you get off you don't forget to pay your driver.

Fare

20 pesos or $.50

Good for close destinations around the city

100 pesos or $2.00

Good for around 3km

Prices would vary of course depending on the destination. Since this vehicle does not have meters you could sometimes do a little haggling to get a cheaper fare.

Thanks again for taking another ride with us on our local public transportation. If ever you swing by our country do give this ride a try and I assure you it would be a fun ride.

Hope to see you again Steemians and keep on riding!
