Promoting Actifit - Recruiting Actifit Mentors

A. Introduction

It has already been 8 months since I last blogged about Actifit.

Even though I have not kept writing the Actifit blog series monthly, I've been using the Acifit all this time to keep healthy and fit. You can read about my activities in my blog.

As one of the Actifit ambassadors, I am always looking for opportunities to find ways to promote this great Actifit app. It is our desire to onboard more and more people outside of Steem to become users of the Actifit app.

The time has now come for me to further promote the Actift app by recruiting mentors for the Actifit DApp.

B. Preparing the Actifit Community to recruit Actifit mentors

For the past half a year, I have been setting up the "Be A Mentor" Program to help grow the Steem Blockchain. One of the ways is to start building Steem Mentor Teams for different Steem communities.

In January, I started recruiting qualified Partiko mentors to onboard newbies onto the Steem Blockchain. We have recruited 20+ Partiko mentors who are now growing the Steem blockchain by engaging newbies in a personal helpful manner.

In March, after discussing with the founder of Actifit, we decided to move forward the mentorship program for Actifit DApp.

This is truly exciting. Every time when we build mentor teams for a particular DApp community, we see great engagement and advancing for that particular community. Many of us witnessed the fire of engagement for Partiko in the last 3 months. We are glad that the mentorship program can help the Steem blockchain to grow in this area.

C. March 24th - Contest

To prepare the Actifit community for their mentors, on March 24th, we ran a Contest!

The purpose of the contest was to get people excitd about the upcoming mentorship program that will take place for the Actifit DApp.

So we asked people to guess which is the next target community to be for the mentorship program. By guessing the right community and giving a good reason for it, we rewarded them with STEEM.

We gave them a big hint with the image we chose and the color we put for the 'Guess and Win Steem' banner. By looking at the silhouette of the 4 people there, they can see that these are athletes. The white words on the red color banner should give them a hint that it belongs to the Actifit community color.

The contest ran for one week and we had 28 people participating in the contest. So we managed to splash some waves to get people ready for Actifit's mentorship program.

D. March 31st - Announcing the Winners of the Contest

After a week, we announced the winners: Winners - Guessing Steem Mentor Team #2

The founder of Actifit sent the rewards to these following winners:

Real life initiative with crypto background promoting a healthy lifestyle. What could you ask more? It's a dream come true for me - Actifit makes you move. And then you come back and sit behind the computer to write about it :)

My guess is @actifit because the picture shows runners on the beach and the red is actifit's color. Actifit is an active community on Steem as I often see their daily actifit's posts. They add a lot of value to Steem reminding us also to stay active and to keep fit.

From the comments given by the contest participants, you can see why Actifit's DApp is chosen to be the next Steem Mentor Team #2.

Actifit has become a very strong active community in the Steem ecosystem and that people are benefited to keep MOVING and KEEPING fit.

E. Nominating Suitable Actifit Mentors

The best way to recruit Actifit Mentors is to get the community to either nominate themselves or others to be part of the Actifit Mentor Team.

Two of these people are already active mentors for the Steem Mentor Team #1 (For Partiko).

I can foresee that these mentorship programs will become greater and better as time goes on. We will have the best Steem mentors on the blockchain to onboard newcomers outside of Steem. At the same time, they will be helping new users to use the Actifit DApp effectively once the mentorship program officially begins.

F. Next Event: Recruiting Qualified Mentors

Next week, we will ask these nominees to hand in their applications. We also wish to call out Actifit ambassadors, moderators and Actifit users to apply for the Actifit mentors. We hope to get at least 12 Qualified Actifit Mentors in the first round of recruitment.

This will be a great opportunity for everyone to work together to grow the Actifit community by reaching out to people outside of Steem and helping present users to use the Actifit effectively.
