In Sofia, there is a palace, which is not something that does not look like a classical representative of this type of architecture, but even somehow contradicts its status in a political sense. This "National Palace on kulturata". That is, the palace of culture in our opinion, only on a state scale. I think everything, why did the Soviet people build clubs for themselves and call them palaces? They all subconsciously wanted to be princes and princesses? Okay, kidding ??

The National Palace of Culture, briefly simply the NDK, is located in the center of Sofia. Previously, he bore the name of Lyudmila Zhivkova - Minister of Culture of Bulgaria, which built this palace. Not herself, of course - she was the initiator of the construction. Until 1978 (they passed it in 81st) there were warehouses with coal and old barracks at this place. And I ask you to note that all this in today's ideal center - on the left is Vitosha Boulevard, which at the end of the fountains becomes a pedestrian and is essentially a Sofia arbat.

In 2005, the NDC received the title of the world's best congress center. It is the largest in Southeastern Europe, has 123,000 square meters, 8 floors, 3 of which are underground, and the largest room has a capacity of 3,380 souls, as the Bulgarians say. They all consider souls ??

Fountains work here most of the time. They are closed only for a couple of winter months.
