What time of year is it better to visit Sofia with tourist intentions? Autumn or spring. In the summer it is too hot and dead here, and in the winter it is gray, sad ... in general, it is better not to. No need to spoil your holiday :-)

Sofia is very good in spring, when everything is blooming, but the lush green parks have not yet obscured mountain views and authentic architecture.

My first most vivid impression of the Sofia spring was Sakura! I've never seen such incredible beauty before. And who would have thought that trees with such a violent bloom are fruitless. This is just a decoration.

Later I learned that all these trees belong to Prunus serrulata, that is, varieties of Sakura - Japanese cherry.

The flowers on these trees are pink and white, but I saw a red sakura in Sofia and even with green flowers. True true!

In the "Beli Brezi" quarter, I saw Fuy-Dzakura, which blooms before winter.

There are a lot of sakura in Sofia, in the center it is most noticeable around the library "Kiril and Methodologies" and around the church-monument "Alexander Nevsky".

Here you can see Prunus serrulata Kanzan on these photos.

Interesting!
It turns out that the Japanese have adapted to make sakura wine, as well as salt the petals and leaves. Bulgarians do not do anything like this - they are just admiring sakura :-)

Thank you for your time and attention.
