Hey there my Steemit friends! In this "Real Life Captured Series" I do my best to bring you exactly that; the real life captured from destinations all around the world! After twelve years of travel experience my favorite thing to do is walk around! That's right, I simply like to go to foreign countries and walk around. I observe and photograph the people, food, culture, way of everyday life and bring it to you in this "Real Life Captured Series".
This is a special short two part Real Life Captured series of photos taken during Independence Day around Independence Square in Kiev Ukraine. I was fortunate enough to be there this past summer of 2018, the holiday each year falls on August 24th.
Ukraine is technically a country at war with Russia in the Donetsk region where the border lies. Compared to the US Independence day which I'm more familiar with, this holiday focused very much on celebrating their military. Jets flew over head while tanks and army battalions marched down the street. There was a military band and chorus providing the music.
Many of these photos focus on the people in attendance, hence it's the real life captured, so come along and let's have a look around in this short two part series of Independence day in Kiev Ukraine!
