Do you ever start writing a post and think 'lame', 'boring', 'dorky', then frown at the screen for a bit until something comes to you? Opening lines can be a bitch, my solution, as you can see, is to just start writing what I'm thinking.
Okay then, city of Charleston by day...really cool streets. Lots of cobblestone ones like these:

And alleys, they are everywhere,

but unlike NYC these alleys are bright and inviting,

not the kind where you imagine dealers and hookers hanging out;

amiright?

Or amiright?

I may have spoke too soon....though this has less of a 'drug deal' vibe and more of a 'ghosts lurking here'- the gate even creaked exactly like they do in horror movies...

erm, guys, are we sure about this, we can still turn back....

anddd of course this is where it leads.

Did you know that the city of Charleston burnt to the ground seven times before they stopped using pine to build and started using stone?

That's a lot of tragedy by fire, and explains the gazillion ghost tours they have at night.

What was that? Did you hear that? Did it get colder and darker just now?

Come on Zoe, move your butt...are you playing ostrich? They can still see you!

And we're out, whew.

Yes, a close encounter with the bad kind of spirits should always be followed by a trip to a pub for the good kind ;)

Whoa. That's a lot of cash.

What a brilliant gimmick! Put up a couple hundred in singles, sign them, and customers will think "I want my name up here" and take over.

How much did you spend on decorating? Oh, about two hundred bucks, the rest came from all the tourists/suckers who've eaten here...

And if you ever have a bad month, the walls will pay your rent and you just start over again. Yup, it's brilliant.

Aren't they just a happy looking bunch of bikes?

Is it me, or does the fudge look like a set of ta-ta's?

'You seein' this Joe?' 'SMH, what is this world coming to'

Just when I thought he couldn't get any odder...

Moving on...the architecture is pretty fab

You again? That face though...

Really should've dared Ralphie to jump on that horse.

Anddd, we're done. Whew, that was a lot of walking, but totally worth it. So what did we learn? This little city is super charming; with cool streets, buildings, and alley ways, it's definitely haunted, and Ralphie is a wierdo. Hee.

More on the Charleston area to come, so stay tuned!
