On the way from the city of La Orotava to the Teide National Park is an unusual rock in the form of a drop-down flower resembling rose petals. The Stone Rose, that's what this unique phenomenon of nature is called on Tenerife. Stone formations of similar shape on the island quite a lot, but it is one of the largest and most beautiful.
According to some sources, this stone was formed as a result of crystallization of cooling volcanic lava. The compression of the rock led to the appearance of cracks in the stone and the formation of such an interesting shape. It is believed that The Stone Rose was formed more than thirty thousand years ago.
