We are back at Kensington looking for some cheap eats. We found Tian Fu as we drove past once as it was a newish restaurant opened up. There are so many restaurants open and close at Kensington as there is too much competition so every time we visit, there seem to be something new opens. Kensington is known to have cheap dishes and big servings so let’s see if we go that during our meal.
Let’s check out the menu first. There were lots of choices from entrees, mains, soups and desserts. Prices were reasonable compared to many restaurants outside of Kensington but for this suburb it is considered on the expensive side.
We were very hungry so ordered 4 dishes. First we ordered clams stir-fried with beans in black bean sauce, beef brisket, flat rice noodles with beef and a pig trotter. I am not sure why we ordered so many dishes for the two of us but we just did! The dishes came very quickly but the trotter took longer which I guess they need to cook and cut it up nicely.
The food overall was salty in my opinion. The clam dish was my favourite and was very tasty even though it was salty which I didn’t really mind. The beef brisket was nice but too much meat and not much of the other condiments. The rice noodle was acceptable but not enough beef and I forgot to tell them don’t add onions. the trotter was actually very tasty. It looked dry when it came out but it really wasn’t when we started eating it. Also the way they cut it made eating it very easy.
There is no service at this restaurant just like many other in Kensington. They also have a second level so there are plenty of seatings. Pricing wise it is not cheap compared to the others in the area but the dish size are equally big. We had to take the noodles away as we couldn’t finish everything which made a good lunch for me the following day.
我們又去大學附近的 Kensington 找好東西吃. 今次我們去一家叫天府飄香的餐館吃飯. 他們餐牌實在有太多東西不知道點什麼但我們最後點了3個菜一個麵。 我們先叫了一份豬蹄, 牛腩, 蛤蜊和乾炒牛河. 個人覺得每個菜都很鹹. 除了鹹, 牛腩好吃但其他配菜不是很多, 乾炒牛河不夠牛肉, 豬蹄看起來好像太敢但吃的時候口感不錯. 最後蛤蜊我覺得是最好吃的，雖然有點鹹但真的不錯. 這家餐館跟大部分在 Kensington 的餐館一樣服務不是太好. 最後，價錢方面就是一般但他們給你吃的份量真是很多.
