This post is for two of the most popular challenges: Beautiful Sunday by @ace108, and Sublime Sunday, created by @c0ff33a.
It is also my post for #piratesunday, in support for the tag started by @stokjockey.
I love driving to San Francisco through the Bay Bridge.
Approaching the City from the east, the center divide at the foot of the bridge is lined with beautiful palm trees.

The new eastern section is a single deck bridge with the eastbound and westbound lanes on each side making it the world's widest bridge, according to Guinness World Records.
There are lots of clouds over San Francisco today.

From the bridge, one can view Angel Island, Treasure Island, and closer to the City is Alcatraz Island. Unfortunately, my camera was not on when I thought I was taking a video of the view those islands from the bridge.
The skyline of San Francisco is breathtaking, especially on clear nights when lights from buildings and homes on hilltops appear like a million stars.

I met up with college friends for lunch in Union Square, which I shall share with you on another day.

During lunch, someone recalled how we would hop on to a California Street cable car enjoyed the overview of Nob Hill, China Town, the Financial District and of course the view of the Bay Bridge. My friends and I did this regularly through our college years and never got tired of it. I loved taking in the cold breeze and the lovely and romantic ambiance of the city.
California Street is one of the longest streets in San Francisco, and there are hundreds of things to see going down the very steep slope of California Street. This is a photo of California Street from wikipedia
After lunch, we drove to the San Francisco Fisherman's Wharf particularly the Hyde Street Pier to look at the old ships!

At this point, I ran out of juice on my phone. The ship above is the Schooner C.A. THAYER that was built in 1895. She is one of the last survivors of the sailing schooners in the West Coast lumber trade to San Francisco from Washington, Oregon, and Northern California, and is very well preserved here at the San Francisco Maritime Historical Park Hyde Street Pier.
The photos below are from the Library of Congress website of the interior of the preserved Schooner C.A. THAYER.

And finally, a vintage ship silver art bar!
