Cherish. The. Love.

The breaking day brought the sun out to play.

Frederick Keonig

A symphony plays
The strings of my heart
Harmonizing
Nature
Music to my eyes — at the corner of harmony and melody.

I slice my oranges, lemon, and limes thin. I find some tried and true recipes to make the infusion yummy. I have found that yummy is key. If it doesn't taste amazing, I probably won't drink as much.
I have found I really love just plain lemon infused in my water. Take the slices and put them in a drinking container and fill it with water. Sometimes I like to put all three of these citruses together or even add grapefruit instead of the orange. I have gotten a little more adventurous over the years and started adding herbs such as rosemary and thyme, but keep in mind that the longer it sits, the stronger it will taste.

Flowers. There must always be flowers to color my world. I dedicate this picture to #SundayPurple #ColorChallenge by @Kalemandra, who colors my world every single day! And just for the heck of it, we will throw in those red in the back for #MondayRed. A twofer of sorts.

And just like that, these musings are done. I want to thank @ace108, @c0ff33a, @kalmandra, and @old-guy-photos for hosting these challenges and just so you know, although much sun and shine were used up today, I can guarantee that there is still a little left in my heart. Have a most fabulous day!

I always post this poem down at the bottom of my posts. It is one that has become so near and dear to my heart. I only post the most famous part of it, but, wanted to post it in its entirety today.

i cried the way women on tv do
folding at the middle
like a five pound note.
i called the boy who use to love me
tried to ‘okay’ my voice
i said hello
he said warsan, what’s wrong, what’s happened?
and these are what my prayers look like;
dear god
i come from two countries
one is thirsty
the other is on fire
both need water.
i held an atlas in my lap
ran my fingers across the whole world
and whispered,
"where does it hurt?"
it answered,
"everywhere"
"everywhere"
