The Importance Of Learning How To Think

One of the most important thing that each human being must do is to develop the brain properly. We go to school and acquire knowledge, but that doesn't guarantee that we all will know how to think.

I've previously brought this issue in other entries when I stated that we're supposed to go to school to learn how to think for ourselves.

In this regard, I found an excellent intervention from Neil deGrasse Tyson. He explores the problematic way that settles in the human mind. In other words, he points out that we focus and relies only on what we already know instead of using our abilities to expand our views and discovering what we don't know yet.

But I'm going to let himself explain it to you in the following video.

Obviously, the problem is the system we all build to give us a sense of control. And we fail to see that the only thing that we accomplish is to limit ourselves, cut out our imagination, and diminish our creativity.

Some people might read these words and say that this is an anarchic attitude because most of us were simply led to believe that everything that goes against the status quo is a form of defiance. But that's far from true. It's indeed a liberation from an obtuse way of blind acceptance.

So, I think we'll do ourselves a big favor if we reconsider how we think and how we process the information... because we shouldn't forget that we're constantly learning. And that's the only path to the next level. I mean, to reach evolution.
