Though match for Racing Genk last night after getting 1-0 behind early due to a goalkeeper mistake. They deserved more over the entire match but in the end, failed to score because Antwerp goalkeeper Bolat was Outstanding. I still managed to make a bit of profit despite losing my biggest bet and It being a very slow betting evening.
AA Gent vs Standard
AA Gent took a bit of a blow last weekend against Club Brugge (who played excellently) as their most important player and creative midfielder Odidja took a red card. As usual, they took a hot offensive start but were not able to keep it up and Club Brugge took over scoring the first goal. It could have been a way bigger score at the end of that match. Odidja will play tonight but will be suspended most likely for 3 matches after. Standard coach played against all expectations quite defensive in the first half at home against Antwerp and their coach stated that they will play more realistic since they have given away too much recently. After getting 0-1 behind, the match did break open in the 2nd half where Antwerp had somewhat of a collapse. I don't see Standard coach changing his plan for now and do expect them to keep a tight defense at the start trying to survive the likely early AA Gent press luring on the counter. Gent might be more careful themselves after being punished by Club Brugge. Because of this I see the first goal as by far the most difficult and took a medium sized early bet on
1st Half Under 1.25 @ 1.845. For as far as the side goes, Standard has a really bad away reputation and it's hard to back them before this gets broken. It should be an interesting match for live betting and a goal could break this one wide open.
Eupen vs Westerlo
Eupen played their first match with an A-Squad and seem to be taking playoff 2 somewhat serious. They won 1-2 against a poor Oostende and even missed a penalty. Westerlo deserved more at home against Beerschot but was unable to score the winning goal at the end. I am slightly tempted with the -0.25 line on the home team in this match and took a small-medium bet on
Eupen -0.25 @ 1.96. I will get in more if the home team manages the convince early in the match. Garcia is playing his final matches for the team and I'm sure they all want to finish it in style. For as far as goal go, Playoff 2 tend to be boring with many goals out of nowhere which makes it really hard to bet on it all and I rather stay away only getting involved live when there is way more info on things like this.
Beerschot vs Sint-Truiden
Sint-Truiden showed they wanted to win late in the match and managed to pull it off. Beerschot did not really convince in the away match against Westerlo but went home with a draw. This one is very difficult to make any kind of predictions on pre-game for me and I'm not going to. I'll just wait it out live to see what's in store. Striker Boli is not ready just yet for the visitors and Beerschot is also missing Vancamp and Noubissi. I would not be surprised if this turned into a boring match but you never know in these types of friendly matches.
Charleroi vs Oostende
Lots of offensive missings for the home team who have Osimhen, Morioka, Golizadeh out. Charleroi took the lead and started winning time quite early in the match already. Oostende put up another poor performance but coach Broos is not giving up yet and stated that he will continue to field his A-squad hunting for that victory. I split small stakes between the
1st Half Under 1 @ 2.230 and
Under 2.75 @ 2.04 and am willing to take the risk of playoff 2 goals coming out of nowhere given the offensive missings from the home team along with the poor Oostende form. I'm also looking at the under in corners for this match. My lean when it comes down picking a side against the handicap would be Oostende, but I'm not willing to go as far as actually putting money on this team.
