Fun with the Kids

This morning my littlest one wanted to go skating so I went out with her and had some fun. She's picking it up pretty quickly. It's so much fun to see the kids taking up activities I enjoyed so much as a kid (like Devon surfing a couple days ago). I used to inline skate a lot (half-pipes, skate parks, etc). That's how I got 2 plates and 11 screws in my left arm, but that's a story for another day.

Anyway, here's a little video we made. My middle daughter Aria did most of the filming on my phone, so don't expect too much stability. :)

She also took this selfie with her cousin. :)

We're planning on going to a skating rink later today after lunch.

Steemit Milestone

While I'm at it, I might as well mention some Steemit stuff. I'm blown away to have over six thousand followers now. Thank you so much! I'm also up over ten thousand posts and comments. If you want to know what success looks like around here, don't pay so much attention to the payouts but instead focus on the relationships you build. At least, that's my perspective. That's what brings me value.

More on that here: #SteemitIsToMe: Relationships, Reputation, and Rewards

Steemit Blues

A lot of people are frustrated with the Steem Power distribution around here. The scammy self-voting, the content discovery problem, the issue with bad actors who don't care about anything or anyone but themselves... The list goes on and on. It's a tough world and Steemit is no Utopia. It's not a meritocracy, though we'd like it to be. It's not fair. I don't have any secrets to offer you other than what I've already put down in the post above. If you have friends with Steem Power who will support you, you'll most likely do well. If you have Steem Power and you support others, they will probably reciprocate (the law of reciprocity is almost universal).

So what are the minnows to do? How can a new person get noticed? I don't really know, though I keep working to find out. My suggestion is to focus on building relationships (not just followers or upvotes). I hope everyone will get the success they deserve. Anything's possible. My friend @crell just joined 3 days ago and he's already received quite a bit of success. His 10k Twitter followers and 10+ years blogging experience probably helps as well.

Maybe at the end of the day all we can do is not compare ourselves with others. My little girl who is only 4 years old just got her skates for Christmas. She's just getting started. If she compares herself to her older sister and her cousin, she'll only be discouraged and frustrated. Instead, she can choose to enjoy every moment and just have fun.

I hope we can all be like her.

I hope you're also having a great vacation time. I'm surely enjoying mine to the fullest!

SmartCash Going Big!

By the way, I hope you got onboard the SmartCash train. Check it out:

I'm still holding and really enjoyed the SmartRewards this Christmas. Devon's super excited about his holdings and his first SmartRewards as well (see that post for links to my other SmartCash posts). I hear SmartNodes (master nodes) are coming soon (10k needed, so I hear) which is exciting. SmartCash has 66x more circulating supply than Dash, but if it reached Dash's market cap, we'd see $17 per coin. I'd be completely amazed if that ever happened, but it does suggest there's still room for growth. Whatever happens, it's always a fun ride in cryptocurrency land!

Have a good one and Steem on!
