On the eve of the start of our "GREEN FOOTPRINT" campaign through the children's canteens, we took advantage of this week to carry out some activities to celebrate the international day of the forests that takes place on March 21.

We have attended a very nice place in our city as the park "Andres Eloy Blanco" and we call on all those who wish to encourage their children to learn to value and honor nature can go to this natural scenario and perform multiple activities, spend a pleasant moment, and that these, from an early age, know the importance of forests and their benefits for our lives and for the planet, strengthening livelihoods, providing clean air and water, conserving biodiversity and providing answers to climate change.

FORESTS AND EDUCATION: LEARN TO LOVE THE FOREST!

These are some of the most important messages that you want to transmit this year: - Knowing our forests and keeping them healthy is fundamental for our future. - You're never too young to start learning about trees - Both modern and traditional knowledge are essential to keep forests healthy. - Investing in forestry education can achieve a better world - Women and men should have the same opportunities to access forestry education.

This is just an activity that we can do today with our children, but we can also just go for a walk in the park or in the outskirts looking for contact with nature, water a tree …

Also children can enjoy inside the facilities.

Here we leave you a series of activities that you can do with the children or group of people to celebrate this day.

PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION: consists of a contest of photography of fauna and flora of forests and landscapes of our country. They can do it from the schools.**

Tree planting:

Schoolchildren go to help the environment of their community, planting 20 trees. At the beginning of the activity it will be explained briefly how this plantation will help the landscape, how it should be carried out and what later have risks and what preventive actions are recommended to perform.

STORIES OF THE FOREST: You can take a special activity in a school environment, to talk to the little ones about how important they are the forests in our life.
Through several stories, drawings and a face painting, children will learn stories of perseverance, joy and friendship, which invite you to enjoy with friends, the shade and the shelter of the trees of the forest.

International Day of Forests - Important Events and Things to Do.

During this commemoration, the United Nations Organization (UNO) holds a celebration ceremony in the ECOSOC room, located at its headquarters in New York. During this event the theme of the year is presented and lectures and speeches are held on the subject. The conferences and speeches mainly mark the strategies that will be developed for the protection and proper maintenance of the forests. It is a tradition in which most of the member countries of the UN (193 to date) hold days of tree planting in conjunction with the native population of each country. You can be a participant planting a tree in the closest green zone.
The UN makes available a large amount of material that can be used in own exhibitions established by organizations or individuals. These pieces can be shared on social networks in order to convey the message of the commemoration of this day. Hashtags are used as "#diacionalcionaldelosbosques", through which the messages, photos and videos of actions and words directed to the celebration of this day are unified.
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) also holds an act of celebration as does the UN. This event takes place at the organization's headquarters in Rome, Italy. Here speeches and conferences are delivered that present the advances achieved, and the future projected in terms of actions and strategies to achieve an appropriate maintenance of the forests worldwide. Rent or buy the documentary "El reino del bosque" (2010). Directed by Jan Haft, this documentary is responsible for magnifying the beauty and importance of forests for animal and human life around the world. This is done through the visit to forests in the European continent.
