Everytime Christmas is coming I always think's about having it together with family. No need for much money in celebrating Christmas. A beautiful house like the image above is not that important. But you know it's fun to have these lights. Do you want to know? Then let me share a real story of my past when I was young.
I grew up from a poor family, my father was a fisherman and a farmer. My mother earned money when someone hired her to wash clothes and to cook. We are a big family because we are 11 siblings and make it 13 including my parents. We can eat 3 times a day but I could tell that it wasn't enough. It wasn't enough because we were not full but there's no food to eat for another round.
We have no electricy that time. I only saw Christmas light's from the houses in the neighbourhood. We didn't have money also to buy Christmas decorations. Why we should buy something like that if the money that my parents earned was not enough for our food.
Yes, you couldn't tell that Christmas was in our house. It simply a house that there's wasn't change even if it's Christmas. We couldn't buy decorations but my sister who worked as housemaid that time found Christmas decorations. Her boss was rich and threw the old decorations into the garbage. My sister asked her boss if it's fine not to throw it and if she can have it. Luckily her boss allows it, and brought it home.
How could I forget those time when we've had our first decorations. It made my tears fell everytime I remember that time. I cried everytime I remember it because even if the time passed long ago I couldn't forget the face of my sister bringing the decorations. She ran towards in our house smiling. I was playing with my brother outside the house and we were the one first saw her. She was so excited bringing that decorations to put it in our house.
Of course all of us were so excited to have our first Christmas decorations. Why it made me so emotional sharing this kind of story? Well, you know Christmas is the occasion that all of us must be happy. Even in the hardship in life, we are obliged to be happy because it's Christmas. And thanks to that decorations we could fell the spirit of Christmas in our house.
Rich people might found my story absurd. Especially that the Christmas decorations were so simple. Just a few pieces of lanterns and bells. There were no Christmas lights because we didn't have electricity at that moment. Our world became different after having those decorations because it took so long before the essence of Christmas came into our house.
