Spring Flower Show at the ABQ Botanical Gardens

Spring is, for the most part, in full bloom here in Albuquerque. A perfect place to observe the wondrous show of the season here in town is the Albuquerque Botanical Gardens. These gardens are stunning year round, but they put on a special show at spring time.

The outdoor gardens were quite lovely, with the usual daffodils and tulips of early April. The grass has begun to turn green, and the trees were beginning to wake up from their winter slumber, with fragile beginnings of leaves on their limbs.

But it was in the Mediterranean Conservatory that the botanical gardens really put on a show. There were truly flowers everywhere you looked. The exhibit is called the Spring Pastel Flower Show, and it highlights the light and lovely colors associated with early spring: baby blues, soft pinks, lilac purple.

The Spring Pastel Flower Show featured some favorite blooms, like orchids, hydrangeas, larkspur, and many more beautiful flowers.

The gardens were rampant with blossoms of many kinds. The sight was breathtaking, but the smell was out of this world. A soft, lovely scent that you can only find in springtime.
