I have often seen what look like tiny little bits of fluff on legs running around very rapidly on the plants but today I found a really big one. Excuse the pictures, I know I need a macro lens

So what on earth is that creature? Google to the rescue: It's a Lacewing larvae: predatory insects that eat other insects such as aphids. Since they are on the succulents, all I can say is Go! Go! Go!
As a fun touch, they sling the carcasses of their past victims and other bits of debris on to their backs and use it as camouflage.
