The wrong mentality...

It was that specific comment "Steem died for me the moment it dipped below 0.75$." from a whale, some 5 months ago that got me thinking...

Was he speaking from the heart? Did his Steem belief really die at that very moment? Assuming that he powered down almost all of his SP and sent it to the exchanges, most likely would be the right answer. Unless of course if he managed to double or triple fold his steem holdings, since steem dipped 4x since then. That's what a smart investor of his size would have done...at least from my point of view.

I totally understand it when a statement like this comes from a whale. You see first and foremost they are investors and this power-down procedure obviously costed him money.

What is sad though, is the fact that there were quite a few comments below this statement from people who were roughly holding 500 SP at that time which agreed with him, as if they had spend thousands of dollars to grow their accounts too...

I can relate with all those who were frustrated as the price kept going down and down over the last 15 months. I was one of those who joined the steem world during its peak. But I got to tell you this.

I am thankful for this downfall.

Thanks to this downtrend I managed to build my account and hold almost 12K SP. It was unimaginable for me back then.

Let's be serious shall we? Steemit gave the opportunity to everyone to build an account without having to spend a dime. That's the truth. Period. All you need to do is put in hours of work, keep producing content and engaging with others. That's it. It is time consuming, I know but your account will grow and God knows how much it will worth in a few years...

But seeing people ready to quit just because their posts don't have big payouts...I mean really? Really? Especially when they haven't invested a penny. This is profit. Even if it is a dollar only still...it is profit.

I wonder how much money they have earned using FB all these years...

Steem isn't a sprint...it's a marathon...and it might be bumpy, but hey...show me a better alternative...

Keep producing fellas...we are still at the very early stages...remember that.
