After the first donation of 15 laying hens on behalf of Obyte We pledged to donate the complete and necessary food so that the hens grow up to 6 months and start laying eggs.
In this post I report the delivery of the second batch of food necessary for the growth of the hens from 3 months to 6 months.
3 packages of food of 40 kg gives a total of 120kg of feed for laying hens ...
The chickens are already big and it's not long before they start lay eggs ..
It is expected that with this new type of food within a month or so they are already laying eggs ...
Facts that I have learned during the course of the project:
1 ) There are many "chicken/hen breeds" and also several types of food ...
They should change the type of food according to the weeks of life of the hens; Start with starter feed followed by feed for development and last feed for laying hens.
This last type of food provides all the necessary nutrients for them to lay large eggs.
2 ) Hens that are raised in cages are recommended to cut their beaks; because hens are curious animals and they like to peck everywhere and because of this curiosity they can break the eggs ... The most advisable thing is to raise the hens in a open space with enough space to lay eggs away from their pecking area .
3 ) They should always have enough food so they do not go hungry, because if not, they can attack each other to protect the food from the other chickens.
