Each word has consequences, each silence also

Self image

I happened to find this phrase, and it is short but precise in terms of content. This phrase belongs to the philosopher, writer, literary critic (among many other things) French Jean Paul Sartre.

And is that most times we look only at what is said, what is meant, but definitely that the silences, apart from necessary, are an inexhaustible source of communication and can have great effects in a dialogue (like that in a song, a point and apart of a writing or a silence in a certain space).

Usually we are taught to speak, to say, to write, but we are not taught or taught about silences.

Keeping silent when a word is needed can be as or more devastating than saying an unwelcome or inappropriate word.

And without the slightest doubt, being silent allows us to delve into ourselves, discover ourselves, that will inevitably have consequences in our lives and indirectly in the people around us.

In short, any action (considering both emit a word and not do it as act) will bring consequences.
