Here is my entry for the Photo Filters and Effects Contest for week 23.

Once again it's time for the awesome contest put on by @bliss11 and @drakernoise called the Photo Filters and Effects Contest, and you can go to HERE to read the rules and see what the stipulations and winnings are for the contest.

This is my entry

My daughter took this photo of my wife, my dog, and myself one day a while back. We are in my house in the kitchen. I thought after 40 years of marriage we should put a little spin on our relationship hehehe!

So I took this photo which happens to be one of my favorite photos, and got to messing around with it in Gimp, which is one of my favorite editors and started messing with the background, as I decided I wanted to get rid of the background and make a better simple background. So then once I had the background gone, I simply added a layer of off-black with a touch of burgundy, as one of my favorite colors is this variation of black cherry, as a background color.

Then I changed programs to LunaPic and started messing around with one of my favorite parts, the swirl, and it's variable with them starting at 300 and going all the way to 1000. Then I played with the kaleidoscope effect which is another of my favorite effects to mess with, then I went and put a swirl on the kaleidoscope, and it came out really nice!

But then, that is not what this contest is for and so I digress. So the next best thing was to capture a still of the mix that I had created, so that is what I did, did a kaleidoscope first and did a spin on it, and voila! A still for the contest!
