Beloved readers, today I begin a series where I will be addressing in a very particular way, different characters that we find in the Bible and that in their time received some special treatment from Jesus Christ, or participated in some significant event in both the Old and New Testaments. Will.
Introduction
Many times on the road to work, school or university we come across people whose behavior we do not understand, because they are in a certain situation, which led them to live like this and we even wonder if there will be any way to help them out of their situation, others come to feel fear, rejection, disgust, disgust and anger, because we do not understand why they are like this or if one day their life will be "normal" again.
The character of the day
He is a "crazy" man who was very aggressive, his place of residence was the cemetery where he usually spent it. This man, due to his aggressiveness, had tried on several occasions to tie him up, to hold him in such a way that the safety of the people who regularly walked along the roads near the place where he lived and also his own safety were protected, since by his condition he attacked his own life.
"The madman of the cemetery" as we might call him, was a lonely man, he was rejected by everyone. This man was condemned to lead a life, without friends, without family, without employment, a totally antisocial life awakening in the people different sensations, feelings and reactions. Seeing him in that condition, many felt pity, others fear, there were those who were angry, rejected and rejected by the majority, never imagining that this man's life would change forever.
His encounter with Jesus
One day Jesus walked near the place where he is usually "the madman of the cemetery", and when that man saw Jesus he threw himself at his feet is not tormented, Jesus spoke to him asking his name: "What is your name? And he responded saying: Legion called me; because we are many". What happened next was something that surprised all the inhabitants of that region, Jesus Christ gave freedom to a man who had been possessed by demons and what to a situation of dementia, destitution, abuse, rejection and fear.
The encounter of this "crazy" with Jesus Christ, served for this man to recover his life, perhaps recover his family, from that day he would no longer call him "the cement madman". You can go back to work and be productive. It seems incredible everything that can generate an encounter with the Lord.
The fruit of a changed life
Mark 5:15 They come to Jesus, and they see him who had been tormented by the devil, and who had had the legion, seated, clothed, and in his right mind; and they were afraid.
When the locals come to see what was happening they find a big surprise, "the madman of the cemetery" had been transformed, in the first place he was "sitting", he had tranquility, he did not run from one place to another trying to hide or to attack someone, the man had found peace, secondly he was "dressed", he would no longer be embarrassed or cold, he could be recognized as a decent citizen before the society of the time and in third place he was "in his full judgment", that is, you could talk to him, he was a reasonable person, balanced and focused, aware of everything that was happening around him.
When this man understood what had happened to him and who had done it, Jesus asked him to take him with him to where he was going, to which Jesus replied: "Go to your house, to yours, and tell them how great things the Lord He has done with you, and how he has had mercy on you." Obeying the command of Christ, he immediately began to tell how his life was and the change that led to his encounter with Jesus Christ.
History taken from the gospel according to Mark 5: 1-20.
