What can we do to promote Steem with our friends and family?

Steem is a wonderful project, for me at first it sounded too good to be true I even ignore it the first time I heard about it, but after learning more about this wonderful blockchain I fell in love completely. "A place where you can monetize your content, build a project and be part of a community of people with similar goals and with shared passions" This is like a dream come true for me, I knew I wanted something like this but I never imagine it was going to be possible.

Learning about Steem has been a great journey, it has been tough at some points but I have enjoyed all the time I ave spent reading, watching videos, commenting and posting. I tend to give up easily in projects that I have started, some of them have not lasted more than three months while others I had to abandon after a long time of not getting the results I wanted. I've been on Steem for almost 15 months and I don't plan to stop soon, I want to keep going and keep growing.

I have invited friends and family to join me on Steem but I have not been very successful. I noticed that for the average person or for someone who doesn't have a lot of time Steem is very difficult. If you are not a tech person, if you don't speak English or if you are a very skeptical person you might not be for Steem. It's true that everyone has to spend a lot of time and on occasions a lot of money to be successful here. I have invested money but not as much as I have earned.

Now some questions that might help everyone who wants to invite their friends.

Which is the best way to explain Steem to someone new?

How can you answer when they ask: Where does the money come from?

How can you help them create an account on Steem?

Which three Dapps would you recommend to beginners?

Which educational resources would you share?

After asking and analyzing these questions we can have a better strategy when we are planning to invite people to Steem. Steem is not an MLM and doesn't have a referral program, well maybe some dapps and games have, but we aren't benefited directly if someone joins. The only way would be if they invested heavily on Steem and voted our content or something similar.

I get why people aren't willing to spend time here, and that's okay after all Steem supply is limited and not everyone has the same vision as most of us. Maybe some people will regret not making the decision to be part of Steem.

Final Question:

What motivated you to be part of Steem and why are you still here?
