Hi Friends,
I hope you all had a nice weekend!
Ours was good overall. My wife got sick with strep throat on Friday and I had to do some work on Saturday, so the in-laws came over to help watch the kids while my wife recovered. I worked for about 1/2 day on Saturday so there was still time in the morning and night to hang out and have some fun play time.
On Sunday, my wife was doing a bit better but we still took it easy and hung around the house. I did make a trip to Home Depot after a fantasy baseball draft in the afternoon and we picked up some plants for the garden - cherry tomatoes, basil and jalapeños. With spring here, it will be fun to watch these grow and produce some yummy food.
At the Home Depot, we also picked up some pvc pipes to have fun with, and the kids had fun running water from the hose through the pipes and running through it... it was a pretty warm day, thankfully! We also released some butterflies that we grew - someone gave Jacob caterpillars as a birthday present (these sorts of “growing kits” are becoming more common I guess), and they made cocoons, and then emerged as butterflies! Fun stuff. Here are some pictures for the weekend:
