Lemon grafted with Tangerine.

Greetings friends of farms.

Today I want to share with you this harvest of lemon, grafted with tangerine.

I really did not know that this mixture of lemon and tangerine could exist. The owner of the harvest told me that they were very rich, however they were very acidic, they did not have the sweet taste of normal tangerines, since the flavor of the lemon was the one that predominated.

Recall that a graft is an operation that consists of joining two different plants, but related, to form a single with the characteristics of both.

One of them will conserve the root, with its corresponding characteristics, while the other will be inserted, by means of the incrustation of a fragment of branch or an yolk, in the trunk of the first one. This part is what will form the branches and, therefore, the fruits, in the case of fruit trees, which will be the same as those of the mother plant, from which we obtained the material for the graft.

The contact between both must be perfect so that the callus that will form when the wound closes, join the two plants and communicate their tissues so that the sap can circulate from one to another.
