BEASTLY TALES

THE MIRROR CRACKED!

Warren Peace looked in the mirror and liked what he saw.
Anything different from him he’d abhor.
Now, what did cause this narcissistic trait?
Why had he been using mirrors so often, of late?
The story is well known, of the Greek youth,
Who pined away from love of his own image forsooth.
Such dangerously morbid self admiration and love,
Should undeniably, undoubtedly, be given the shove!
But still Warren Peace just loved his self image,
It was there, truly, no mendacity, no scrimmage.
And as his image smiled back at himself,
He soundly knew he was a possessor of wealth!

“I’m in love,” he would say, “I’m in love with me,”
“I’m the only one suitable, confidentially.”
He was something of a sociopath,
People meeting him didn’t smile, certainly not laugh!
Anti-social was the name of his game.
All his own making, no-one to blame.
Quite often, when watching the news,
One observes people who could fit in such shoes.
Of course, political folk can’t be seen in the realm,
Of being anti-social, whilst at the helm,
They must act as though loving their supporter base,
No matter how obnoxious, or “in your face.”
But Narcissism is a hat many wear well,
Particularly when folk fall under their political spell.
“I’m the best, I’m a genius, no-one is better than me!”
Standard positioning, speaking politically.
One knows, instinctively, they don’t eat humble pie.
Don’t even bother to question just why?
The last refuge of scoundrels is politics,
Politicians are like a paper sheet with many boxes, no ticks!
