The Malecon beach is located on the Gulf of Mexico beach in Coatzacoalcos. It has been famous for its beach views and savories. There is a long pathway beside the sea to some regular points of access. The city is not amongst some of the grand colonies of Mexico. Due to which, except for some basic architectural structures, one may not find some great interest of sculptures along the coastline. The place around it is pretty decent for some light walks and strolls for some adventure hitched tourists.
The beach is surrounded by some good number of decent hotels such as Fairfield Inn and Suites and many others. For visitors who would like to get the sea facing view can always opt for those. The view from the top of these places is excellent, providing if one can bear up with some foul smell coming from the beach nearby. The locals do swim in that arena, but that might not be a safe decision due to the criminal element which is heard about.
One can probably grab the opportunity to visit the beach for sunrise. The view for that is amazing out there. From there one can take a drive to the Malecon to view the statues and the row of artfully-painted houses on the streets. There might be some security issues which may repel out from the fun of late-night parties, hangouts and night walks or jogging until sunrise. So, it is preferably a better idea to not to visit that place alone especially during the night. The beach is more tourist-friendly near the Pyramid area. Also, it is not really safe for activities like sunbathing.
Keeping all these facts aside, the people out here are very happy and friendly. They might have been poverty-stricken, but around them, there isn’t any reason to feel unsafe. Even the beggars and the merchants are not aggressive. One can always taste the savory dishes near the beach at an inexpensive price made by the locals. The only minus point near this area is the foul smell near the beach which is caused by the lack of a proper sewage system. If that is maintained properly both by the locals and municipalities, the beach is an excellent place to visit both by the locals and tourists.
