Kochi Muziris Biennale - 2019 (Aspinwall House) II

The past couple of days have been so crazy that I barely got any time to update here. But I finally got a hold of my laptop today as I am heading home. To be honest, it sucks to go back because the week just passed in the blink of an eye.. but I guess it's always there when you enjoy something so much.

Anyway I had written a little about the Kochi Muziris Biennale a few days ago and am back with some more pictures from exhibitions in Aspinwall House. The biennale ended on the of March and I am glad I timed it perfectly in my schedule to be able to catch everything.

In the evening, I finally got be around some coastal area after months of day dreaming about it! Plenty of boats, bigger and smaller ones passed by in a matter of few minutes and those were some of the prettiest sights :)

I didn't quite understand this installation but it was a good use of space nevertheless.

This piece below is a handloom converted into a musical instrument! It uses the mechanism of handlooms which were used in India and the each string produces sounds. These can be tuned just like guitar strings. A few people who were well equipped with this instrument played some music for the viewers and later let us play it ourselves. This was followed by some interesting sculptures made from branches and twigs.

A few pictures from outdoor installations, spaces and art. Aspinwall House was just one of the many venues of the Biennale and worked the charm for me. Swings hanging from tree trunks and people spending time around greenery talking about the works of art were just few of the sights that evening.

ISN'T THIS THE MOST EPIC POSTER EVER!
