The Cityscape Diversity of Tokyo

While walking through Tokyo, the diversity of the landscape is always surprising you. The mixture of architectural styles from several periods of history and various world locations make a mishmash of scenes that can reach from confusing... to lovely.

One minute you're walking around in a large street like the one you see above, with a giant mess of signs and cables everywhere...

... the next minute you walk into an alley where charming houses like the one below are right next to more recent buildings...

Walk a few more steps and you might even find a Moroccan Style Bar... with a lot of growing vegetation decorating it, to make you feel welcomed or confused. I guess it depends on the person. Some might find all this vegetation a little over the top while others find it relaxing.

On the same wall, just a couple of meters ahead, there's a sculpture of a praying Buddha.

As soon as you walk out the alley, the big city and its big buildings hit you in the face again.

I've felt that my visit to Tokyo was very short and if I had more time, I would definitely have walked these streets in a more relaxed way. Since I was with my family, we rushed through every street, moving from one place to the next, without hardly enough time to sink in the cityscape around us. 😂

All of these photos were taken with a smartphone... but I hope you enjoyed them.
