I took these images last night thinking that I had captured the Moon and Mars. It was only later that I noticed that it was probably Saturn? The clue was in that it wasn't red. Which Mars is. I have done a little editing to create this massive moon just for dramatic effect and your viewing pleasure. 😊
Saturn is that dot of light through the tree bottom right of the image.
Moon and Saturn together
The photograph of the Moon in cloud below is a composite of two images. I took them both with the 50 mm lens and the image of the Moon was tiny. Apparently you need at least a 200 mm lens to get a close up of the Moon.
Moon in clouds
This is the original image below which was over exposed but had a nice line of light spreading out in two directions almost like looking across a disk.
I then took an image of the Moon and combined it to get this effect below.
Moon and Saturn together image
Finally I cropped out the bright light of the Moon, enlarged the Moon image and dropped it behind the building to get this magazine style image.

The Moon photographed with 50 mm lens
As you can see the image of the Moon captured with the 50 mm lens is tiny but shows enough detail when you zoom into it and was used to create these composite images above.
Dlive video of the Moon from 2 days ago
So far today I have had a #sublimesunday initiated by @coff33a how about you folks?
I could tell you all about the camera settings but they probably wouldn't work for you as they are dependent on your camera, location and available light. You have to practice daily with your camera to learn what it can actually do. Good luck and happy snapping. 😊
