If you are thinking of choosing Myrtle Beach as your next vacation destination, I have some tips for you.
Firstly, do it. It's an awesome place. I'm generally not a big fan of touristy spots, but this is an exception.
Secondly. If you want peace and tranquility, book in North Myrtle. If you want fast paced and fun, book in South. If you want the best of both, stay in North Myrtle and hang out in South.
Thirdly. Get a room with an ocean side view and balcony, it is worth the extra.
(Also, if you plan in advance and go during the off season, you can find a north myrtle condo for cheap)
For ten years my parents rented a condo in North Myrtle for the entire month of October, and most of those years we spent a week with them. I couldn't have captured the essence of those retreats better if I had planned it out then you will find in this impromptu photo shoot.
(The back entrance to Molly Darcy's, the only real pub on the north side and in walking distance to every condo my parents booked- there is free parking to hang out on the beach here with a bathroom facility in the bar and the parking lot)

*The I SEE YOU written in the sand was not done by us this time around, though we did do something similar one year while we were there- an I LOVE YOU message to my dad who spent a great deal of time on the balcony due to physical limitations. in the later years
