Love is the most powerful emotion that every human can have. It has the ability to either destroy or create something new. Why do I say so? When you are in love, you can unleash all the goodness inside of you. The willingness to sacrifice your own happiness and even your life will come out naturally. On the other hand, it can also be the root of evilness once you are broken. The goodness will turn into a deep madness that can lead to revenge. You become irrational in your decisions thinking that if you can’t get him, then no one will have him at all. It is like, "Love me back or I will dig your graveyard".
There are people that will rather choose to stay alone than to be with someone else. They are afraid to experience the rejections and betrayals that they commonly see in movies, social media, and stories from their friends. As a result, their attention will fall into other things such as serving the Lord, love for pets, gardening, charity, volunteering, and anything that can make them avoid the attraction for a single person. At the end of the day, we are not in the position to judge their choices. Maybe these are what they really want in life and we must respect it.
When you are in love, you are giving him not only the right to complete you but also the power to break you into pieces. Love teaches us to believe in faithfulness in this world full of disloyalty. It is like giving him a knife but trusted him not to stab you while you are sleeping. The most harrowing part of betrayals is not the wound created by those stabs, it is the fact that he chooses to disappoint you. This kind of cut can’t be healed by any surgical operations. The time heals the pain but the memories will always remain. The person behind your laughter is the same man behind your suffering. Ironic, isn’t it?
Everyone deserves another chance if he admits his mistakes sincerely and asks for forgiveness. It is said that love is about accepting the flaws of your partner but be careful, it can blind your eyes. There’s a difference between accepting and tolerating the imperfections. Cheating is forgivable if he promises not to do it again and fulfill it. However, it is considered unacceptable if he doesn’t keep his words and the cheating became habitual. Don’t be blinded by his broken promises, it’s time to wake yourself up from the lies.
Despite the heartbreaks that love can give, I’ll still choose to love and be hurt rather than not loving at all. I believe that if someone can dance like nobody is watching, it is also possible to love like you’ve never been hurt before. Yes, it can be very painful but once you moved on, those scars will make you stronger and wiser. Love is an essential ingredient to make your life more meaningful and it can make you a better person as well. You are the writer of your own love story; find someone worth the pages of your book.
