What's That?
It was brought to my attention that this month is national poetry month! Thanks Princess 🤗 Those who know me, know I dabble a bit in the poetic arts and am an avid supporter of poets. I even delegate to the @poetsunited curation bot - @poetsunit - to help all the poets that are members of that community. It also dawned on me that I haven't even written anything in ages when it comes to verse. So, I start a new initiative and will do my best to curate posts from the new tag - #partikopoetry. (Promise it'll be original next time, this in case some haven't heard.)
The Beaten Path
Tangled webs, trip wires and traps
X marking the spots on each of the maps
So you, you and you can sit back and relax
Why what where who when reality slaps.
Let them be kings for their limited days
Aces in holes will patiently wait
Through slums and slaughters, little lambs being slain
Though the pain is great, it never remains.
Off the beaten path, blaze our own trails
Make our own ways, stake our own claims
Sow the seeds and proceed to dominate the games
War is an art, chess pieces have names.
