In the National Day Rally speech by the Prime Minister of Singapore yesterday, one of the thing he mentioned was it will cost $100 billion or more to protect Singapore against rising sea levels. It seems we have a new enemy to fight: rising sea level. This is one of the news regarding that:

Now, I'm curious knowing Netherlands (or more so Holland as I know when I was studying Geography when I was in school) has land below sea level. How much did they have to spend to keep their ass dry. I did some search and come across this:

Looks like we going to have to spend massive construction dollars over the next few years to keep ourselves dry. Is that why Marina Bay Sands built a big boat more than 50 floors high. :-)
