A Thatched Cottage for #monochromemonday by @old-guy-photos

I pass this thatched cottage just about every time I go out and it always gets my attention for some reason. Built around the 16th - 17th century by the look of it. Architecturally it is quite interesting. This is how the houses were built in London before the Great Fire of 1666 so you can see why the fire spread so fast and destroyed so many buildings.

It's just soo cute and olde worldie and the kind of thing you would see on a chocolate box or greetings card at christmas with a bit of snow for added cuteness.

Note to self:- Get a photo of it covered in snow lol

Here is the same cottage below and as you can see the colour is quite muted. If you look on the roofline you will see a bird made from straw. This is a common feature of these cottages to have straw animals on the roof line.

These photos have been on my desktop for ages and I just kept forgetting to post them. Oldtimers is setting in I think?

Have a great week folks.
