Barter:
I love this one. I can give you a modern day example of barter executed and made possible by the steem blochain when I recently made a deal with @reseller exchanging 24 karat gold Mene charms for a gold legendary Steem monster!

Salt:
This one is super interesting. I try to explain this one to Mrs. Goldmatters everytime we go to Costco. I’ll have to show her this blog.
Modern Coinage:
Note that the coins were assigned value based on their metal weight.... just like Mene.
Fiat Currency:
Unfortunately we are all familiar with this one. Issued “by decree” which means that unlike most of the other money we have talked about thus far, fiat currency has zero intrinsic value. It has value only because someone says it does. Which works until.... it doesnt. Fact: no fiat currency in history has ever survived.
Cryptocurrency:
If you are reading this, you already have a basic understanding of crypto. We can’t know exactly where we are going with cryptocurrency because if its nascent history, but thats also what makes it so exciting. FYI you can use crypto to buy Mene :)
