This week I went to the fair to see what's new and take a bunch of photos so I can have photos to post on MarketFriday. I took a lot of photos and I've seen many, many products but, both handmade, beautiful art and kitsch. Today I'm going to post the creative and handmade products, next week maybe there will be another post with the rest of the products. I'd like to promote creativity first. That means value for me and I'm not alone with this.
I'm going to start with some unusual Mărțișori. I was happy to see these products, I recognized the vendor right away and asked if he's been here last year and i was right, he's been at the craft market at both editions. What you see here is painted on eggshells. Each piece is painted oneggshells. It's amazing art, I don't think I would be able to do it, or I would need a lot of practice.
Their price reflect the hours of work the artist put into them and I think it's a fair prize. I'm always trying to imagine myself creating a piece like this and I know what it means.
The first vendor I saw when I entered the craft market was an elder lady representing people with disabilities, who made these lovely Mărțișori. The lady saw me taking photos and started explaining to me these are all handmade products by the members.
On the left there are small flowers on a green leaf each, all made by hand using some kind of material similar to clay that is then dried in the oven. On the right there are pistachio shells manually painted, decorated with snow drops.
What you see here is all handmade, hand painted by the members.
These are again handmade, crochet leaves with dry flowers or flowers made of textile material.
It's a good feeling to know these people worked so hard in order to create these beautiful spring welcoming decorations. I can really appreciate their work. I didn't buy anything but I made a small donation, as sign of my appreciation and asked the old lady to tell the team they have created wonderful pieces.
