Flaming potatoes!! Last week was a beer washout and I decided I had to pull out the stops to make a difference this week.
Like a pioneering madman, I went and found a new beer shop and everything.
And look what I found! Awesomeness!! Chilli awesomeness!! I cannot wait!! Let's do this thing!!!
First up, the ever magnificent Beavertown in Collaboration with the equally impressive Brouwerij de Molen from the Netherlands!

Hot ding dongs. Are there any boxes this doesn't tick??
It's a stout conditioned in Cedar barrels with orange zest and pasilla chilli's. This sounds like the best thing ever!

It's tar black. So black indeed that it is almost purple. I feel my gander rising at the look of it. I hope my neighbour doesn't pop his head over the fence as he sometimes does or he might lose an eye.
News flash!!!
It's fantastic!!!

It's bitterly roasted and malty but then comes in the sticky jam-like dark fruityness. Raisin and treacle and chocolate. A tiny hit of heat from the chilli's at the end which I would say shows real skill to have it at such a perfect level in the mix.
Hurrah!!!

This is one of the finest beers I have tasted in a fair while. A massive 9/10 BOOMS!!!!
What's next? I have the beer slabbering need!!!
Be good my little Swiss friend!

This looks interesting, again I was drawn by the chillies. A Swiss beer too, I can't remember if I have drunk a Swiss beer before.
Will this make me Swiss?
Only one way to find out!

It tells me on the can that essentially it is a black IPA with dried chillies thrown into the mix when fermenting. Sounds good to me!
It is very good, you get the hops from the IPA blazing through. Bitter on the long lingering aftertaste, in a good way.
It doesn't have the meaty jam'ness of the first beer and the chilli's are not as strong. In fact barely noticeable. However it is a very pleasant black IPA. Very more-ish! 8/10 BOOMS!
Well this makes me a very happy and slightly tipsy man. I must away to the fridge for more beers and to scavenge for scraps of food.
Don't worry, I won't bite anyone!
Have a good weekend everyone, cheers!!
