Keep your ears open only to authentic information

Humans are social beings who rely on information sharing. When we share information with others, there is a high possibility that we might end up sharing lots of unauthentic information. That is because we are used to sharing without understanding the truth. This usually happens for the elders. They all believe whatever they see in Facebook and other social media platforms. I have seen lots of blood requests and unauthentic information spreading around the social media. That is one reason why I hate social media like Facebook and WhatsApp and stay away from them. I'm not completely out of it by I stay very low there with not much activity. But I'm not trying to say that you should completely quit social media because we will then lose a channel to get recent trends and information.

Healthy knowledge sharing is the best way to spread good vibrations. If we are not sure about any information, we should not share that information with them. We have a saying in Tamil.

எப்பொருள் யார்யார்வாய்க் கேட்பினும் அப்பொருள்
மெய்ப்பொருள் காண்ப தறிவு.

Knowledge is trying to know the exact truth from whatever we listen from others. This is the meaning of the above Tamil saying. We may not be an expert in judging if the information we get is true or not but until we get to know the truth from authentic source, we should not be spreading the information to others. Knowledge is the supreme power that an individual can get. If we use it in the right sense it will grow. There is also another comparison that is made with knowledge and money. When money is given to a person, the money is now lost from the giver and goes to the hands of the taker. But when it comes to knowledge, when a particular knowledge is shared with someone, both the giver as well as taker will retain the knowledge and that is the power of knowledge.

One thing that we must not do is to share unauthorized information in social media. We might be so excited about an information that we hear in our ears, but before we understand the truth, we should not be sharing the information with others. If we once get an authentic source to quote when someone is asking us, then we are free to share the information with others. Sometimes the information that we hear about others may not be true and if we keep spreading the wrong information, it can spoil the career and dignity of the person. We will also get a guilt feeling after we realize that the information we shared was incorrect.
