최근에 스달의 가격이 폭등하자 스달을 USD $1에 연동해야 하는 기능이 필요하다는 주장이 나오고 있습니다. 옛날부터 이런 주장을 하는 사람이 있는 것은 알았는데, $1가치의 스팀을 1스달로 바꿔주는 컨버젼에 관한 하드포크 얘기가 나올만큼 토론이 되고 있다는 것에 깜짝 놀랐습니다. 개인적으로 SBD 를 USD에 페깅 하는 것은 현실적 이득이 거의 없고 손해만 있는 정책이라고 생각하긱 때문입니다. 자고로 화폐정책은 함부로 손을 대는 것이 아닙니다.
전제: 스팀은 보팅파워를 제공하는 주식의 역할을 하는 반면 스달은 유동 자산의 역할을 합니다. 이 두 개의 화폐는 고유의 역할을 가지고 있으며 스팀은 대부분 스파의 형태로 축적 되어 유동성이 적습니다. 그러므로 저는 스팀잇에서 진짜 사용되는 화퍠는 SBD라고 생각합니다.
Premise: Steem is more like a stock which empowers your vote and SBD is a liquid currency; the two have their own functions. Most steems are locked in as steem power and have limited liquidity. Thus, I think the real currency in steemit is SBD. The following are the reasons why SBD pegging is not a good idea.
1.스달 페깅은 스달의 희소성을 잃어버리게 할 것이고, SBD는 아무 쓸모가 없을 것입니다
SBD pegging will ruin the scarcity of SBD, and SBD will be a trash.
사람들이 BTC를 보유하고자 하는 이유는 BTC의 공급이 제한 되어 있고 희소하기 때문입니다. 스달의 페깅을 주장하는 사람들은 SBD 가치가 안정화되면 사람들이 SBD를 더 쉽게 수용할 것이라 생각하지만 이는 헛소리입니다. SBD가 희소성을 잃고 $1 가치만 가진다면, 사람들은 SBD 대신 더 신뢰 할 수 있는 USD를 훨씬 선호 할 것입니다. 그럼 아무도 SBD를 가지지 않으려고 할테고, 스팀 시스템은 망할 수 밖에 없습니다.
Think about the popularity of BTC. The reason for the popularity is scarcity. The people who support SBD pegging argue that stability of SBD will results in more acceptance of SBD, but this claim is abso-fucking-lutely stupid. If SBD can never exceed $1, no one will accept SBD since USD is much more trustworthy. Don't ruin the best characteristic of SBD - the scarcity.

The new conversion means that we lose control of the supply of steem and it will make price of steem more volatile.
새로운 컨버젼이 도입되면 스달이 1불보다 가격이 낮으면 스팀 발행량이 늘고, 스달이 1불보다 가격이 높으면 스팀 발행량이 줄어들게 됩니다. 즉 스달의 가격에 따라 스팀 발행량이 영향을 받게 된다는 것인데, 이는 스달의 변동성이 스팀에게 까지 전염이 된다는 것을 의미합니다. 스달을 마켓캡이 작기 때문에 변동성이 큽니다. 그 큰 변동성을 스팀에게 까지 전염시키는 새로운 컨버젼을 도입 한다는 것은 예상치 못한 시장 변화에 스팀 생태계를 더욱 약하게 만드는 것입니다.
If the new conversion is introduced, the supply of steem will increase when SBD is less than $1 and the supply of steem will decrease when SBD is greater than $1. Thus, the price of SBD will affect the supply of steem and the volatility of SBD will be transferred to STEEM. SBD has been more volatile due to its small market cap and steem has been relatively more stable. The new conversion will transfer the high volatility of SBD to STEEM, which make our currency system more vulnerable to unexpected market condition changes.
3.현재 스팀의 상승은 스달의 상승으로 인해 스팀의 발권력이 높아져서 이루어진 측면도 있고, 높은 보상으로 인해 신규가입자들도 많이 들어오고 있는 상황입니다. SBD의 평가절하는 스팀 생태계의 성장 저하를 가져올 것이 분명합니다. 다른 경쟁 플래폼들이 따라오는 마당에 굳이 성장을 저해하는 자충수를 둘 필요가 없습니다.
Depreciating SBD will reduce the reward of posts, and this will only slow down the growth of steem users. Why do you want to give an opportunity to our competitors to catch us up?
4.현재 스달 가격은 여전히 높지만, 과거 13불 까지 폭등한 시절에 비하면 현저히 낫습니다. 그러나 마켓캡은 과거 SBD가 13 불 할때와 거의 비슷합니다. 이는 스팀 가격 상승으로 인해 SBD가 엄청나게 빨리 발행되고 있다는 것입니다. 시간이 지나면 SBD의 가격은 더 낮아질 가능성이 많습니다. 시간과 시장에 맡기면 될 일은 괜히 나서서 고치려고 하면 더 큰 문제가 됩니다.

5.지금 시스템도 이미 충분히 복잡한데 더 복잡하게 만들면 뉴비들이 적응하기가 어렵고, 정보 격차에 의한 부의 불균형이 발생하게 될텐데, 이는 현실 경제의 문제점을 그대로 스팀 생태계에 도입하겠다는 무식한 생각입니다.
Steemit is already complicated. Don’t make it more complicated. In a more complicated steemit, only well-informed users will get wealthy - isn't this a familiar story?
6.스팀은 미국 것이 아니라 전 세계인의 것입니다. USD 페깅을 하면 미국 돈 기준으로는 페깅이 되지만 한국 돈 기준으로는 여전히 가치가 변동하게 됩니다. SBD는 세계 통화가 되는 것을 궁극적인 목적으로 삼아야지 한 국가의 통화가 되는 것은 스팀이 가진 가능성을 스스로 차단하는 꼴이 될 것입니다.
SBD should aim to be a world currency as steemit users are from all over the world. Being pegged in USD, SBD will be volatile to all other currencies in the world. Don’t be a patriot. A new world without borders is open to us with steemit.
SBD의 USD 페깅은 현실 이득이 전혀없는 전형적인 탁상공론에 불과 합니다. SBD를 BTC,ETH 등등 모든 가상화폐보다 더 가치 있는 가상화폐로 만들어야 할 마당에 SBD를 쓰레기 지폐로 만들겠다는 스달 가치 연동은 정신 나간 소리에 불과합니다.
