In today’s vlog, we show you something you usually don’t see.
Everyone loves to see the abundance of fruition- the freshly plucked fruit, the mature and glorious apple tree, yet how often have you seen the beginning stages of such an affair?
Today we give you a glimpse of our vision from the ground up as we prepare Steps 1 & 2, the clearing and initial planting, of our long awaited Orchard.

clearing... largely unnoticed work.
You see, we didn’t take any videos in the early years...
All of the land looked similar to this scrubby and brushy field, replete with buckbrush, brambles and wild persimmons. The clearing happened off camera and now, slowly but surely, you are seeing us reap. It’s an exciting process, but usually only the harvest is highlighted and all that hard work gets hidden!
Not so today, folks! I know there are so many of you doing similar things or aspiring to, and why not disclose this very important aspect of the process?
I truly believe it will also be a cool type of “legacy video” in years to come.
We humans always love “looking back” getting a dose of that perspective. We often hear ourselves say, “Remember what it looked like when we first moved here...”

Now you can see it too and it will be recorded on the blockchain.
It won’t grow leaps and bounds overnight, but these are the important first steps, indeed the foundational steps, to implementing our land based, rooted, perennial permaculture vision!
Today we have prepared the land to plant 7 apples that we bought recently from Ames’ Orchard & Nursery, specializing in disease resistant bioregional fruit varieties.

We are so happy to be getting these in the ground!! Join us for the fun and see what the beginning stages look like in a long term vision. We can “see” it amidst the brush & scrub can you??
